This training was excellent—it was interactive, conversational and real with practical take aways that can be immediately applied. In fact, a few of the participants have shared with me that they are using the tips provided as part of their departmental meetings and getting positive feedback. From my own vantage point, Communications is a key part of my role. The training did not give me new techniques per se, but certainly sharpened my focus on messaging, keeping the audience engaged, delivery and energy. We have decided to expose others to this training as we believe it will build their confidence and their communications capacity even beyond virtual experiences.”

Karel is an exceptional coach, plain and simple. She has a unique ability to tap into who you are and bring out your best. The environment she creates in her sessions is both welcoming and empowering, making it easy to open up, be honest, and show up fully as yourself. Through her coaching, I felt more confident leaning into who I am without apology. I walked away with a stronger sense of self, a clearer understanding of what to amplify, and meaningful insight into the areas where I can continue to grow. Even now, I still apply many of the techniques I learned during our sessions in 2024, which speaks to the lasting impact of her work. If you're looking for a coach who is personable, professional, and genuinely engaging with just the right touch of humour, Karel is the one to work with.

Karel created a virtual environment that encouraged interaction with and amongst participants. It was a great reminder of the value of simple and direct content. I also appreciated the introduction to the range of things you can do with Canva. That was a serious “ah-ha” moment! I love creating content that creates value, so this session felt like a treat! It hasn't changed my approach so much as it confirmed and helped me refine my approach. I liked the opportunity to interact with colleagues I had never met. Even though it was virtual, I've been connecting with those people I “met” during the sessions. I would recommend Livewired Group based on the non-threatening learning environment they created. So many people feel intimidated about writing. I think the style of delivery and the open discussion boosted the confidence of many participants.

Karel has an exceptional gift for communication, not just in the words she uses but in the clarity, confidence, and purpose they inspire. Her guidance has helped me refine how I express ideas and connect more effectively with different audiences. Whether it’s improving tone, grammar, or message flow, she brings a thoughtful balance of encouragement and precision. She also provided valuable insight on identifying communication patterns in high-trust teams compared to those still developing cohesion. Additionally, Karel emphasized the usage of a system which can be relied upon even where there are short timelines. Prior to the training, business writing felt simply logical and formal. However, I now understand how we can use it to drive certain emotions from readers, increasing the likelihood of a positive response. The virtual forum allowed our cohort to include teammates from other islands, allowing for a wider beneficial impact on the company. The training taught me to consider the communication objective in every piece of writing, from an email to a formal report. The training also showed that there is still room for creativity in formal writing, and often through simple techniques, such as, re-ordering points to make the piece more impactful and engaging to the reader. However, I now understand how we can use it to drive certain emotions from readers, increasing the likelihood of a positive response. The primary change in my style is increased awareness of the communication objective rather than just the business objective. I appreciated that the sessions were not structured as lectures, but rather, emphasis was placed on teaching the techniques through our actual and current business needs. The training felt relevant, as opposed to abstract. Business writing is a powerful addition to the toolkit of any professional and Karel makes the techniques accessible and the learning, enjoyable.

Prior to this training, managers and partners told me to “see the bigger picture”. Through learning and applying techniques shared, it forced to step back and ask myself: What is the picture am I seeing? What is relevant in this picture? What part of the picture does my audience care about? Karel's class guided me to think and write not only strategically, but purposefully. I have been quite self-conscious about my writing. I would always ask myself: Is this sounding right? How is my tone coming across? In these sessions, I was able to raise these concerns. Karel also shared solutions I can apply to address them. I appreciate that Karel took the time to understand our company and service line. Karel was able to understand the challenges we faced in expressing and communicating our ideas. Karel crafted scenarios that allowed us to apply the techniques that we learnt to overcome these challenges.

The explanation and examples used during the training made me more cognizant of the importance of my breathing and enunciation during my presentation. It also increased my awareness of the speed with which I spoke and the various techniques I can use to manage any pre-presentation nervousness. She demonstrated to us the importance of identifying what was the 'communication objective' in our chosen presentation to ensure the message was effectively conveyed for the benefit of the specific audience. Where can you find world class oratory and executive presence training that is fun, practical and immediately harnesses your own unique talents? With Karel! Our group was made up of different personalities, different professions and varying degrees of public speaking exposure and Karel made us all feel like the program was tailor made for each of us. She is a strong, seasoned vibrant coach with a LOT to give! We thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. The Impactful Presentations and Brand Storytelling programme with Livewired Group, facilitated by Karel Mc Intosh, and it was truly an eye-opening learning experience. Karel has a remarkable way of connecting communication skills with self-awareness and helped me see that effective presenting begins long before we start speaking. She taught me how factors such as sleep, hydration and overall wellbeing can significantly influence how we show up and communicate. That perspective completely changed how I prepare for presentations, helping me to be more mindful and intentional in my approach. Her sessions were practical, engaging and filled with insights that I continue to apply in both my professional and personal life. Karel’s teaching style inspires confidence and self-reflection. She equips you with the tools to become more authentic, composed and impactful in how you share your story. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to elevate their communication and presentation skills.

The sessions with Livewired Group were energetic and interactive, truly living up to its name. Karel is an awesome trainer. She thrusts you into the role and provides honest feedback.
Sapphire GirodMarketing Assistant, Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corporation
I enjoyed the training experience. As a presenter, you made every effort to ensure that each participant was comfortable with the subject matter and engaged in the experience. I learned that virtual training/meetings require more focus, planning and engagement than in-person sessions. Livewired introduced tools to allow me to maintain focus while attending these sessions. I also learned how to demonstrate my engagement even when I remain non-verbal. I like the interactive nature of the sessions... your sessions were organised and very interesting.
Denise DanielIndustrial Relations Specialist, Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago
Karel did a great job at teaching while maintaining attention for long periods of time (3+ hours). In virtual training it is easy to become distracted, but the training structure was captivating. Understand personal writing strengths and weaknesses Time-saving – there is less back and forth due to improved clarity and conciseness Influence – encouraging others to take action, and persuasion skills I've become more conscious of getting the main points out clearly and concisely. Some examples are formulating an effective communication objection, reorganizing points/ideas, and utilizing formatting such as bullets and heading. The way Karel reintroduces familiar concepts and adds a local flair to the material makes it easy to remember, and feel like less of a chore to implement into day-to-day writing. Yes! It's not just another writing course. In the business world, there are times where you may be frustrated or tired, which can impact your writing. Learning about my personal writing style allowed me to recognize and quickly remedy facets of my writing which may degrade.
Terrence DearSenior, Strategy and Transactions, EY Trinidad and Tobago
The training helped by reminding me to give more thought to what I write, and how I write it before I write it. Her approach is simple and direct. She truly tries to understand the writing personality of each participant. She helps you to identify your style, its strengths, and its weaknesses, and shows you how you can work toward writing better.

I'd recommend Livewired's workshop to professionals of all levels. I feel so much more confident, as I know that I now have all the necessary tools to produce captivating material.
Janese HagleyMarketing Coordinator, COLFIRE
This workshop gave me an insightful look into how important it is to understand not just the message we are trying to convey, but to also think about the people who receive it. I was able to get a clearer understanding of how messages should be delivered, and that each type of method has its own structure and style.
Chinaka PierreBrand Manager, Unicomer Limited (Courts)
Although virtual training is a relatively new experience, for the most part these sessions with Karel felt like a normal in person experience. It was kept interactive by engaging in discussions and demonstrations where feedback was continually encouraged and you felt comfortable to express even if it was in the sharing of personal experiences. The benefits from this training are that although some of the tools of communication were already being used, I am now more equipped and conscious of how to make use of them more effectively. The training has changed my approach in that I am now more self aware and conscious of how I can use that in relation to interacting with others, as well as techniques that can be used to deal with different personalities and to be aware of techniques being used on me as well. I liked that Karel kept the sessions engaging and interactive, encouraging participants to delve into themselves regarding their personality and how one may deal with matters and the most appropriate way that may be most effective. Yes, it was an insightful training which was conducted with an enjoyable flair that Karel brings.

The Business Writing Boot Camp, offered by Livewired, energized my approach to writing. The relaxed atmosphere encouraged me to be creative and expressive in my writing. I developed my skills in proper sentence construction, the use of punctuation and formatting content based on the objective. I enjoyed the open conversations and being able to get an intelligent response to questions. I feel more confident with writing.
Stephanie LewisPublic Relations Assistant, NGC
I had a very positive experience. My expectations going in were completely turned around in the first few minutes. To learn how to be more confident in speaking in front of an audience, contribute more in meetings and in general how to get my points across without fumbling my words. I gained knowledge on techniques to employ when speaking and doing PowerPoint presentations. I would now walk the room, make eye contact, use hand gestures when appropriate and engage audience members while speaking in public. For presentations, I will limit info to small points on a slide and expand through speech and make use of diagrams to be more effective. Karel is very relatable. Her knowledge of everyday topics and pop culture references used to get her points across held me from the onset.
Ashad MohammedProject Lead – IT and Process Improvement, Guardian Group
The experience was very pleasant. Karel is really awesome, funny and so down to earth. She was able to quickly push any fears I may have had out the door. The benefits were tremendous, as I was able to overcome not so much my fear, but my nervousness. I learned how to calm myself and stay calm, how to casually overcome any mistakes I may make, and, most importantly, how to handle difficult people. I learned that the key is in being prepared, not so much with the material but with the ability to communicate what I already have in my head. I was able to see first-hand how practicing before presentations and how to engage my crowd are important in making a long lasting impression. What I liked most about how the training was conducted was the engagement, involvement, reality and practicality of my real work experiences.

It is my pleasure and honour to acknowledge Karel Mc Intosh for presenting her 'Understanding Effective Communications' talk at our Administrative Professionals Training Programme. Karel was a great presenter, engaging and passionate about her topic. Her candid style and humour won over the participants as soon as she began speaking. She had great examples of ways to apply her concepts in work and personal life. Karel is inspiring, talented, funny, and insightful. It is without hesitation that I recommend booking Karel for your next conference or event.
Michelle Low Chew TungPrincipal Consultant, LCT Consulting & Associates
A very interactive class. She had the perfect balance of slides to participation . I enjoyed every minute of the training and learnt so much in just a short space of time. I learnt how to attract, engage and appeal with the targeted audience without bombarding them with too many words. I even had a refresher course in English too. I have the mantra of emotions, story and tone, whereas before it was only the tone I focused on. I was open to the idea of learning something new. I just wasn't open to the idea of sitting through a boring class. Thankfully, that wasn't the case.. Karel took real life examples and explained in details why it will or won't appeal or confuse the audience. Of course I would recommend this company simply because they are top tier.

I am not new to virtual training though this web writing training was truly a different experience with great collaborating with others. The new skills give you an edge. When I heard about the topic before training, I did not know what to expect. I thought it would have been the regular slide show training. Livewired Group’s training changed the method I used to write on the web before. Now, I will never look at written web content the same way again. I liked the interactive workshops. No one was not left behind.”
Garth JosephOffice Assistant, Department of Behavioural Sciences, The University of the West Indies
I've been doing virtual meetings and sometimes you can multi-task and do other work. However, this virtual training had me engaged from start to finish. I didn't want to miss anything. I definitely am paying more attention to how I write for updates to the website and for social media. I was eager to learn something to improve what I had been doing as I knew there was room for much improvement. I plan to think more about the audience perspective when I write. Before I was just thinking that I just want to tell the people out there what we were doing, but now I stop to think would they care about that, and how I can it make more relevant and appealing to them.”
Asenath SharpeAdministrative Officer, The University of the West Indies
The training was relevant, entertaining, focused and timely in light of the current environment. New techniques to focus and obtain the desired outcome of meetings, to ameliorate or assuage situations to ensure delivery of objectives. It was not a topic of focus or on the radar for potential training. To some extent it emphasized and reminded me of the options available, also when to use it combined with other techniques. It was always interactive, participative and there were surprises on some occasions. This kept your interest and made the participants feel comfortable to contribute. Certainly, I would recommend and it is relevant given the quantum of meetings and this communication medium is becoming the norm in the workspace.
